Crochet Pattern

Materials:

5mm hook

Yarn Bee, Soft Secret in olive

Yarn Bee, Soft Secret in Honey (For yellow brim and small X’x on the side)

Lion Brand, Hometown USA in Las Vegas Gold (For large side X’s)

You’ll need to know how to perform the waistcoat or knit stitch it will be “Ws” in the pattern. This pattern includes sizes for:


Ages 4-10 (19-21″ head circumference)

Adult Small/Teen (21-22″ head circumference)

Adult Large (23-24″ head circumference)

Brim Before fold:

Pin your brim together so it doesn’t slide around as you crochet it together.

Make sure you go through both layers!

Don’t cut your yarn after you finish with your brim, just keep going!

Child,  Age 4-10

1. Chain 73 then make a circle

2-22. (Ws x 73 around) for 21 rounds (These 21 rounds will be your gold band if you choose to add it)

23. Fold brim and ws through both layers

24-44. (Ws x 73) around for 20 rounds

45. (Ws x 8, dec) seven times, Ws x 2

46-49. Ws around for 4 rounds

50. (Ws x 7, dec) seven times, Ws x 2

51-55. Ws around for 5 rounds

56. (Ws x 6, dec) seven times, Ws x 2

57-60. Ws around for 4 rounds

61. (Ws x 5, dec) seven times, Ws x 2

62-66. Ws around for 5 rounds

67. (Ws x 4, dec) seven times, Ws x 2

68-72. Ws around for 5 rounds

73. (Ws x 3, dec) eight times, Ws x 2

74-78. Ws around for 5 rounds

79. (Ws x 2, dec) seven times, Ws x 2

80-85. Ws around for 5 rounds

86. (Ws x 1, dec) seven times

87-91. Ws around for 5 rounds then sew shut.

Adult Small/ Teen Size

1. Chain 77 then make a circle

2-22. Ws x 77 round for 21 rounds (These 21 rounds will be your gold band if you choose to add it)

23. Fold brim and WS through both layers

24-44. (WS x 77) for 21 rounds

45. (Ws x 8, dec) seven times, Ws x 7

46-50. Ws round for 5 rounds

51. (Ws x 7, dec) seven times, Ws x 7  

52-56. Ws round for 5 rounds       

57. (Ws x 6, dec) eight times, (last dec overlaps)                     

58-62. Ws round for 5 rounds

63. (Ws x 5, dec) eight times

64-69. Ws round for 6 rounds

70. (Ws x 4, dec) eight times, (last dec overlaps)

71-77. Ws round for 7 rounds

78. (Ws x 3, dec) eight times, (last dec overlaps)

79-85. Ws round for 7 rounds

86. (Ws x 2, dec) eight times, (last dec overlaps)

87-93. Ws round for 7 rounds

94. (Ws x1, dec) eight times

95-99. Ws round for 5 rounds then sew shut

Adult Large Size (Male)

1. Chain 81 then make a circle

2-22. Ws 81 round for 21 rounds (These 21 rounds will be your gold band if you choose to add it)

23. Fold brim and WS through both layers

24-47. (Ws x 81) for 24 rounds

48. Ws x 8, dec) eight times

49-54. Ws round for 6 rounds

56-61. Ws round for 6 rounds

63-68. Ws round for 6 rounds

69. (Ws x 5, dec) eight times

70-75. Ws round for 6 rounds

    On row 5 do I decrease 8 times or just ounce then go to row 6 I’m lost HELP!!

    1. You make 8 waistcoat stitches and then a decrease stitch. You do this seven times in this one round.

    1. Yes. Sorry I really need to update this pattern. Sorry about the confusion. It was one of the first patterns I had ever written. But yes, when it it six rounds of just ws around and then the decrease round.
